Riah's Rainbow
Today I wanted to talk about a very special young lady who is awe-inspiring and left behind a legacy of love for other children: her name is Mariah.
Mariah had an inoperable brain tumor that was unfortunately terminal and led to her passing at the tender age of four.
However, Mariah was not easily distracted by something as scary as that-rather, she chose to become involved in her coloring-begging her mother to bring her coloring books, crayons and other tools for drawing to the hospital. Undaunted by what her illness had done, Mariah learned to color with her left hand when her right side was paralyzed from treatments.
Mariah's beautiful artwork can be seen on the Riah's Rainbow . Although her passing was untimely and devastating for her family, Mariah's beautiful spirit lives on in the work they do for other terminally ill children-providing coloring books, crayons and paints so that they too may lose themselves in their artwork as little Riah did.
This is a wonderful form of art therapy for children and I cannot think of a better way to help them smile and cope with a difficulty most adults wouldn't even know how to face!
Please consider making a donation of coloring books, crayons and other supplies for terminally ill kids in memory of Riah. This is a great project to get your children involved in as it teaches them to be kind to others, as well as understand and appreciate those who are different.
Riah and her family are in our thoughts and we wish many blessings upon them for the good works that they do to honor her memory.
